Inside the Librarian's Head

Given that Christian schools have been around for a couple of decades, the lack of professional materials that deal with Christian school libraries is perplexing. And the utter absence of anything with a charismatic/pentecostal focus is also baffling. Librarians need these to properly design a collection plan that fits the organizational culture. Creating a library from scratch with no money is hard enough; also needing to build the tools is just so laborious...I have no choice but to create these tools, but the issue is that as an outsider to this community I can unntentionally bring bias to my plan. This would be considered a professional failure....so its off to the BU School of Theology Library for me...I need to find out as much as I can about pentecostalism and education. A type of going back to first principles... I am motivated to do this because there appears to be mixed messages among the evangelical, charismatic and fundamentalist curriculum guides and textbooks at CCA...more on this later.

Hi Winnifred:

Something happened. Right after I left you that message, I went back to the Library file (whatever you call it). I was just about to catalogue some books and it just logged off with out me doing anything. I hope I am not jinxing this thing. I seem to be the lucky one this happens too whenever there is a problem with the computer. I couldn't read all of your notes I had alot of traffic today. I hope all the book I checked in/out are recorded as such on the file. please let me know

God bless
jamie
